TITLE: VP TECHNOLOGY

LOCATION: FULLY REMOTE

COMP: 250K + BONUS + LTI'S


DESCRIPTION:


The VP, Technology will be responsible for the build out and scalability of the entire IT enterprise through technology transformation and optimization initiatives.

He or she focuses on understanding and applying existing, new and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models.

The VP, Technology’s focus is to help the organization plan, design, innovate, orchestrate, facilitate, navigate and operationalize the digital enterprise and IT vertical.


REQUIREMENTS:


Leads and coordinates all aspects of IT, including:

• Business Architecture: Focused on guiding people, process and organizational change

• Information Architecture: Focused on the consistent sharing of information across organization

• Solutions Architecture: Focused on developing a direction for managing the portfolio of future solutions

• Technical Architecture: Focused on evolving the technical infrastructure

• Security Architecture: Focused on managing IT risk through the exchange of information between people, systems and things inside and outside the organization.

Specifically drives outcomes in the following areas


Technology Systems

• Oversee and staff the development and maintenance of a coherent internal tech stack across the organization using the most user friendly and scalable products available (e.g., Office 365, Salesforce, Slack, NetSuite/Oracle etc)

• Identify and recommend new technology solutions; direct the sourcing and implementation of new software and hardware

• Manage, staff and oversee the internal technology architecture and network infrastructure to support organizational needs

• Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems


Technology Services & Device Deployment

• Oversee the management and deployment of company's' device inventory

• Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance

• Gauge and anticipate the diverse needs of constituents; hold the IT team to a high standard of service Analytics, AI, and Machine Learning

• Identify opportunities to apply the latest advancements in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to build, test, and validate predictive models for product, supply chain, logistics, and sales

• Oversee the creation of algorithms and dashboards to extract information from large, multiparametric data sets

• Oversee the deployment of algorithms and dashboards to production to drive cost efficiencies and customer insights

• Manage the embeded automated processes for predictive model validation, deployment, and implementation

• Lead a team of software engineers and data scientists to create innovative solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency at our facilities

• Direct the integration of existing external advanced analytics platforms with internal data collection systems to improve predictive models


IT Leadership

• Build and set the organization’s technology vision and priorities in alignment with organizational goals, while building a first-class development & IT team

• Oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities (vendors, partners, etc.)

• Advise the executive team on the development of a strategic direction for IT systems and services, monitoring trends and innovations in the industry to meet those needs

• Ensure IT data security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity planning processes are in place and receive regular review for currency and adequacy and all IT operations adhere to applicable laws and regulations

• Participate in budgeting and strategic planning; manages to budget


Qualifications


Ten or more years driving technology strategy in a leadership role.

• Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, or operations in a multitier environment

• A degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry or related quantitative field (Masters or PhD preferred)

• 5+ years of senior IT leadership and 10+ years of information technology experience, preferably in a scale-up or tech start-up setting

• Demonstrated ability to oversee the development of novel machine learning methods that go beyond putting together of existing code, and to apply problem-solving skills to complex issues

• Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.

Experience building engineering processes that adapt to scale

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Architectural Mind: You can ideate and write down technical solutions that are modular, scalable, and maintainable, and help integrating them into existing systems.

• Communication Expert: You are able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical people and you can understand and integrate product and business-related requirements into your solutions.

• Pragmatic: You build quick prototypes of your ideas to foster understanding and buy-in from your teams.
