Our National Security R&D-focused client is looking for a proven technical leader to oversee and manage their national security programs and division. You will be responsible for applying multidisciplinary science, engineering, and technology functions to anticipate, innovate, and deliver responsive solutions for the nation’s complex, global, national, homeland and energy security challenges.

Ideally, you have . . . 

  • A master's of science degree in engineering, science or related discipline; a PhD in a STEM field or an MBA is preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive experience in scientific and technical leadership.
  • 10 years of management experience in directing applied research and development program in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience with defense contractors a plus.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to alter your messages for varying audiences, including sponsors.
  • Experience applying innovations to develop solutions to practical problems.
  • Financial and business savvy coupled with the ability to analyze metrics.
  • The ability to drive change with a continual focus on increasing value to the customer.
  • Prior experience with DoD and/or other government agencies is preferred.


You also must be an U.S. citizen in order to acquire a DOE Q Level security clearance as well as higher clearance levels as required.
