Our National Security R&D-focused client is looking for a proven technical leader to oversee and manage their national security operations and facilities division. You will be responsible for providing operational oversight for functional line organizations including: Mission Assurance, Infrastructure Operations, Business Services and Management, CFO, Chief of Staff, Strategy, Planning & Protocol, ES&H, Communications, Health Services, Human Resources and the Office of Counter Intelligence. This role works collaboratively as part of the Executive Leadership team to determine and execute upon operational strategy in support of the nation’s complex, global, national, homeland and energy security challenges.

Ideally, you have . . .

  • A Master's or PhD in engineering, science or related discipline; a PhD in a STEM field or an MBA is preferred
  • 20 years of experience in an operations leadership role
  • Financial and business savvy coupled with the ability to analyze metrics
  • 10 years of experience interfacing with design entities, internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Proven track record of leading operations in a multi-site environment
  • Change agent with a continual focus on increasing value to the customer
  • Extensive experience in scientific and technical leadership
  • Expertise in senior management-level strategy development
  • Experience with defense contractors a plus
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to alter your messages for varying audiences, including sponsors
  • Experience applying innovations to develop solutions to practical problems
  • Financial and business savvy coupled with the ability to analyze metrics
  • The ability to drive change with a continual focus on increasing value to the customer
  • Prior experience with DoD and/or other government agencies is preferred

 

You also must be an U.S. citizen in order to acquire a DOE Q Level security clearance as well as higher clearance levels as required.
