TITLE: VP OF SALES


LOCATION: BAY AREA CALIFORNIA


COMP: 175K + EQUITY



DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced VP of Finance based out of our Cupertino HQ. The VP of Finance role is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). As Vice President of Finance, you will oversee all financial matters for the organization, from making sure payroll is finished on time to analyzing market trends. You will be responsible for processing the financial activities of our organization to achieve our runway and growth targets. The role includes analyzing data and advising top executives on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization’s future. With a hands-on approach to all aspects of the organization’s finances, our VP of Finance must ensure the company complies with tax laws and regulations specific to our industry.


REQUIREMENTS:


● Own all aspects of Finance Operations, including:

-Regular financial reporting (prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements), forecasts, plans and budgets, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement

-Timely and accurately provide reporting of financial information internally to the SLT, for the Board of Directors and to investors, and externally to partners and for compliance with laws and regulations

● Oversee all aspects of Accounting Operations including revenue and expense, payables and receivables, payroll and tax preparation

● Lead and manage the budgeting process

● Advise about revenue recognition and cost matching

● Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue, COGS and expenses

● Manage and supervise AR and AP with partners and customers - including the implementation of payment and billing systems with controls

● Gather financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to revenue, COGS, margin, expense and cash

● Manage an annual financial audit

● Ensure the company complies with tax laws and regulations specific to our industry

● Manage risk and compliance via insurance coverage for the organization

● Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes

● Participate in the administration of offers to new employees, as well as merit and promotional adjustments for existing employees, in terms of salary, bonus and equity

● Manage the company’s quarterly and annual bonus payouts

● Keep careful tabs on regular transactions, investments and any business deals that affect the bottom line

● Serve as a financial advisor to the CEO, COO and executive team for strategic planning purposes

● Partner with the CEO to support corporate finance activities, including venture capital fundraising



QUALIFICATIONS


● A Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field

● An MBA

● CMA or CPA certification

● Five to ten years of managerial experience

● Experience working for startups

● Excellent oral and written communication skills

● Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

● A passion to seek out modern, more efficient approaches to accomplish the recurring tasks of the business more efficiently - e.g. you embrace cloud-based apps and tools

● A metric driven approach and strong analytical skills

● Attention to detail

● Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

● Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure

● Proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets (although you rarely use a spreadsheet because your apps and tools are so good)

● Aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving

● Critical thinking skills
