When assisting customers, Pilot Power acts as an independent energy advisor, ensuring customers obtain the energy supply best suited to their needs.


The Chief Operating Officer is a key member of the executive leadership team with strategic oversight of the day-to-day management of the company’s operations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors, the COO is responsible for planning, controlling, and managing the critical operational activities of the company, integrating strategic acquisitions, building and maintaining relationships with department heads, executives, Board of Directors, and the PE-Sponsor to ensure open lines of communications exist. The position can be based in San Diego, CA, or Houston, TX.


Provide key oversight to the operations of the business and effectively communicate risks and opportunities to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Private Equity sponsor

COO will be responsible for post-acquisition integration and assistance with the evaluation of M&A opportunities

Drive a thriving company culture while ensuring that organizational outcomes are met

Drive profitability of the business including innovative approaches to improve margin and operational efficiency

Direct business lines to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet specifications and industry standards

Implement growth strategies

Evaluate performance against schedules and budgets and take necessary action to address deviations


Bachelor’s or higher degree

5 years of experience in business leadership in a retail energy environment

10 years of related experience

Proven P&L experience

Demonstrated experience building highly effective teams

M&A due diligence and integration experience

Exceptional analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience in the retail energy/utility sector
