Release Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Release Engineer II to join our client’s growing organization. In this position, you will provide a breakdown structure for project related work and also provide estimates for technical projects. In addition to this, you will work closely with the technical lead on each project.


 

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Provide work breakdown structures and estimates for technical projects
  • Implement and teach best practices for Release Management methodologies
  • Lead trainings for global release management teams
  • Work closely with the Technical Project Leader to meet project objectives and timelines
  • Drive efficiency and reduce error rates with scripting and automation
  • Actively seek solutions to business needs, communicate trends to leadership, and suggest innovative solutions
  • Deploy software to test and production environments supporting the iterative and project life cycles.
  • Assist with communication during critical launches and support events
  • Perform tasks for projects and support assignments using established procedures
  • Ensure internal documentation and knowledge reference pages are updated
  • Provide prompt, efficient, detailed, customer-oriented service to internal and external
  • Work with other support teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality level of support


 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working directly in a DevOps or Cloud support capacity
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Cloud and Hybrid Cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, on premise)
  • 2+ years' experience supporting at least one platform, Windows, Linux,
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting IIS environments
  • Experience with the SDLC and Release Management methodologies
  • Demonstrate best practices in the full life cycle of software development activities
  • Effective communication skills
  • High standard of quality and focus on customer satisfaction



Beneficial Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with configuration management and automation (Terraform, DSC, Ansible, Chef etc.)
  • Experience with a development language like C#, C++, Java
  • Experience working with applications based on Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience working with applications .NET Core framework
  • Experience as a technical team lead
  • Knowledge of common continuous integration patterns and practices
  • Experience working with global IT teams and users located around the world
