Position: Full-Time Portfolio Administrator Job Description

D.F. Dent and Company Inc. is an independent investment advisor located in Baltimore, MD with $11 billion in total firm assets. A DF Dent Portfolio Administrator is responsible for the set up and maintenance of client accounts; compilation and completion of client, custodian and firm paperwork; review and maintenance of client transactions and activity; maintaining client files and updating the CRM as necessary; organizing, and general support of the portfolio managers. The administrator should have strong communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and multi-task, be proactive, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment. The administrator should also have strong client service skills, a passion for excellence and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

Duties and Responsibilities • Be part of a team responsible for the administration of approximately 1300 portfolios • Support Portfolio Managers in all aspects of client relationship • Serve as the point person for client communication and requests • Manage new client onboarding process • Assist reconciliation outsource provider with daily and monthly reconciliation of client portfolios using Advent APX • Manage quarterly reporting for client accounts • Ensure that all client and Portfolio Manager communications are detailed in CRM • Interact with bank custodians as needed • Complete ad hoc client-related or firm projects as needed

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • 3-5 years of experience working in a similar role for an RIA or Wealth Management firm • Highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written • Ability to work independently or as part of a group with strong follow-through skills • Strong working knowledge of Advent Software solutions desirable • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365) • Cheerful willingness to help out in whatever way best helps the team and our clients
