POSITION SUMMARY

 

The VP of Talent Management leads the human resource function for the organization. Helps develop and executes the HR strategy to support the broader company strategic plan. Develops policy, directs and coordinates Human Resource activities, including recruiting, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, training and development, leadership coaching, and other employee services.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR

·        Actively participates in Leadership Team meetings to develop and implement strategic goals as well as to take the steps necessary to meet organizational goals.

·        Studies legislation and market trends to assess personnel trends.

·        Stays informed about industry issues and communicates impact to CEO, Board and Leadership.

·        Thinks strategically and responds with appropriate tactical plan.

·        Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance.

 

Finance

·        Demonstrates competency in developing and managing the budgetary compliance within + or - % as set by the organization.

Compensation

·        Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine a competitive compensation plan.

·        Maintains position control system.

Staffing

·        Works with VP of Finance to analyze staffing and prepare projected employment needs including departmental FTE requirements.

HR Policy

·        Writes directives advising management and supervisors of policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and benefits.

·        Reviews and makes recommendations to leadership for improvement to company’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters; properly communicates changes to staff.

Benefits

·        Manages company employee benefit program to research and secure the optimum, most cost-effective employee benefit programs.

·        Completes and files benefit contracts.

·        Responsible for communication plan for all benefit changes and open enrollment.

·        Facilitate and authorize the opening of HRA bank accounts for HMO healthcare enrollees.

·        Represents company at personnel related hearings and investigations.

·        Oversight and administration of 401(k) Plan.

·        Oversight and administration of educational assistance program.

·        Responsible for all regulatory filing requirements with regards to benefit plan offerings.

·        Collaborates with finance department to assure retirement plans are compliant with state and federal guidelines

·        Oversees compliance audits.

·        Oversees staff leave policies and procedures.

 

 

 

 

 

Worker's Compensation and OSHA

·        Administers Worker's Compensation processes.

Reporting and Filing

·        Oversees all tracking and reporting for employee annual in-services.

·        Timely and accurately reports human resources and employee related information to Joint CEOs and Board of Directors.

·        Oversight of staff credentialing process.

Special Projects

·        Completes special projects as requested.

HRIS Systems and Recordkeeping

·        Develops and maintains a Human Resources system that meets management information needs.

·        Oversight and administration of Human Resource Information System.

Employee Relations

·        Consults legal counsel on issues affecting policies and/or as directed by the Joint CEOs to comply with federal and state law.

·        Provides management/employees with assistance in employee relations issues and works with them to positively resolve situations.

Recruiting and Hiring

·        Administers and maintains an effective employee recruiting program.

·        Oversight and perform pre-employment background checks on applicants.

Staff Communication

·        Communicates information to staff at the direction of the Joint CEOs.

Company policies and procedures

·        Advises/Interprets company policies and procedures and employment laws for supervisors and staff.

·        Works with HR Director to implement programs and practices to ensure organizational policy compliance.

Performance Management

·        Help supervisors write and update job descriptions and competencies.

Separations

·        Oversee/Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.

Intern and Volunteer Program

·        Collaborates with Director of Patient and Provider Experience to strengthen relationships with area schools and universities and build a sought-after internship program.

·        Oversight of volunteer program.

 

Contractual Employees

·        Oversight of independent contract arrangements.

 

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·        Prior experience in Human Resource work; BS preferred; Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·        Excellent written and verbal skills; carefully discern communication with employees or potential employees.

·        Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

·        Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·        Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.

·        Capable of computing insurance rates, reading and preparing graphs and charts, calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word and HRIS.

·        Reasoning Ability - excellent reasoning ability. Solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.

·        Interpret instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

·        Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - SPHR or PHR Preferred
