About The Role:

As Programme Director, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a major national infrastructure programme focused on inland saline mine water treatment. This 10+ year initiative will take you from strategic outline case through feasibility, design, and implementation, involving significant partnerships and innovative approaches to complex environmental challenges.

You will work closely with national and international partners, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring that programme outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and delivery of a complex, high-value infrastructure programme.
  • Collaborate with senior government officials, partners, and stakeholders to influence and negotiate innovative solutions.
  • Oversee the selection of commercial delivery models and routes to market for a diverse range of projects.
  • Inspire and manage a growing team, fostering a people-centred leadership approach.

What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in major project/programme management, ideally within the infrastructure or water sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence at senior levels and deliver complex programmes.
  • Familiarity with UK government business case frameworks, governance, and compliance.
  • Experience in commercial delivery models and selecting appropriate routes to market.
  • A commitment to people-centred leadership and alignment with our mission and values.

Flexible Working:

We offer a hybrid working model, with the opportunity to work from our Mansfield Head Office or from home, particularly if you are based in or near coalfield communities. We encourage Directors to be present in the office 1-2 days per week, but we are flexible for the right candidate. Travel to sites and meetings with teams, partners, and customers will be part of your role.
