Senior Tile Warranty & Service Technician



Objectives of this Role

The Tile Warranty & Service Technician is responsible for assisting the Tile Installation Manager in all aspects of the warranty and service repair process. This includes utilizing their knowledge of different types of tiles and materials to ensure proper repair techniques are applied. The technician must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently to efficiently and accurately complete repairs. Additionally, the role involves performing necessary tile repairs to address customer concerns promptly. They will collaborate with Service & Warranty Coordinators, Account Managers, and other internal team members to ensure that all service and warranty repairs are completed and meet company standards. The ideal candidate for this role would leverage their extensive experience in tile installation to transition into coordinating repairs, effectively managing service and warranty activities, assisting with onsite repairs, and ensuring seamless coordination of service and warranty processes.

Responsibilities

Conduct warranty assessments, providing detailed inspection reports, including material lists and annotated photos for Service & Warranty Coordinator and Installer guidance.

Evaluate warranty concerns identified during repair demolitions and furnish comprehensive documentation to facilitate invoicing responsible parties for associated expenses.

Perform shower pan tests to detect leaks and investigate the root cause.

Identify and coordinate any framing corrections (deadwood, curbs, niches).

Address minor plumbing issues including inspecting drains, adjusting drain heights and centering valves.

Perform small to intermediate tile repairs within residential and commercial properties, including caulk and grout fixes.

Install all heated floor wiring, execute warranty paperwork and testing procedures, and address any concerns related to heated floor thermostats, including calibration and setup adjustments.

Conduct warranty inspections with homeowners and coordinate the resolution of any identified concerns or issues.

Deliver tiles for key builders and supplies needed for in-process installations in collaboration with Service and Warranty Coordinators.

Skills and Qualifications

10+ years of experience in tile installation, demonstrating strong technical abilities.

Experience in heated floor installation, including wiring, testing, calibration, and setup adjustments.

Ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, builders, and internal team members.

• Strong knowledge of flooring materials, techniques, and industry standards

• Professional and clean appearance as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Working knowledge of computer systems and email, and ability to learn company specific software applications for scheduling, job assignment and completions.
