Team Role: Association Accountant

Reports to: Accounting Controller


JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The association accountant is responsible for the managed non-profit Associations’ accounting and financial procedures. The association accountant must provide financial data and work with executive management to coordinate all financial planning functions with business operations.


Essential Functions

  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded appropriately in QBO, with the required level of detail
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card accounts (operating and investment) • Perform month end and year end close procedures (accruals, deferrals, development and maintenance of supporting schedules, etc.)
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual reports as required by Association (P&L, Balance Sheet, Budget vs. Actual) in accordance with deadlines
  • Serve as liaison between Association and Outside Accounting Firm. Primary point of contact for Audits/Reviews and Tax Preparation and Filing. Assist outside accounting firm with requests.
  • Maintain / Update Chart of Accounts
  • Work with Association Executive Director to create annual budget
  • Onboard new clients to QBO as necessary. May involve converting client from prior accounting software to QBO, creating/updating chart of accounts, verifying balances, etc.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential between associations.

Position Type: This is a part-time position. The hours are somewhat flexible with a total of 30-35 hours per week. The role is fully in-office.


Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance - 2 years’ experience preferred.
