Qualifications

  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • 7 or more years of broad-based financial and accounting experience, previous supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities; detail-orientated, timely and accurate
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software systems, payroll procedures and Office 365
  • Recent experience with RealPage and ADP helpful
  • Excellent communication, team player, time management and organizational skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner


Responsibilities

  • The Controller oversees all financial and accounting activities for the company and ensures that the organization’s accounting system complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and investor expectations
  • This position is the chief accountant for the company and must understand the business operations and how the financial system interrelates with operations
  • Functional responsibility and oversight of company administrative functions related to risk management, insurance, systems integration, treasury management and corporate office operations
  • Monitors and oversees all accounting operations
  • Analyzes complex data and financial information
  • Responsible for the company’s financial and accounting procedures and reporting
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for all entities
  • Reconciles all accounts receivable and payable and prepares journal entries
  • Establishes and maintains cash controls, reconciles bank statements and general ledgers for all entities
  • Produces annual budgets and forecasts; reports significant budget variances to management
  • Maintains corporate financial reports; prepares, coordinates, and publishes all investor reports
  • Manages the day-to-day administrative functions of the corporate office, including IT, landlord relations, service providers, supplies, and reception
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Works with third parties to ensure timely preparation, review and filing of tax returns for all entities
  • Performs financial modeling to support property development and acquisitions
  • Maintains and controls the company’s purchasing policies
  • Establishes and maintains vendor accounts for all third-party contractors and suppliers
  • Ensures all company credit card transactions are secured and verified
  • Maintains the company’s financial and accounting filing systems
  • Leads analysis and integration of technology to optimize business management and performance
  • Supports community business office operations and training
  • Ensures compliance with all lender requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Benefits

  • SALARY: $110k - $130K Bonus eligible
