Principle Responsibilities

 

Account Management

·        Primary function to support Account Executive on all aspects of Client Management

·        Day-to-day contact for service issues; responsible for troubleshooting and service escalation whenever necessary; billing, eligibility, claim resolution, etc.

·        Manages new carrier/vendor and plan implementations for book of business

·        Responsible for working one-on-one with Communications to prepare open enrollment materials; review and edit all content including rates

·        Responsible for preparing and presenting Open Enrollment presentations, both in person and virtually

·        Conducts client open enrollment meetings and answers questions regarding benefit coverage

·        Responsible for ensuring that all Open Enrollment materials are prepared and distributed in accordance with the client’s needs 

·        Participate in peer review as both a participant and a reviewer of standards of client deliverables

·        Oversees Benefit Butler activity and responses by providing supervision, support and/or training to Benefit Specialist

·        Maintains communication with carriers/vendors at all times to support the client

·        Prepares or coordinates open enrollment implementation files

·        Troubleshoots all open enrollment issues as they arise

·        Audits first invoices post-enrollment to ensure that rates are accurate

·        Responsible for new business implementation

·        Responsible for all administrative and technology implementation

·        Coordinate and lead all open enrollment activities

 

Renewal and Marketing

·        Assist Account Executive with marketing preparation, including spreadsheeting all proposals

·        Prepare and provide benchmarking along with proposals for client evaluation

·        Respond to carriers/vendors questions and track proposals/denials

 

 

Client and Team Support

·        Client Support – As requested:

o  Work with client team in the overall development and execution of Benefit Strategy Calendars, Utilization Reviews and Renewal/Marketing Strategy development  

o  Manage the implementation of new products and services during the renewal season (or as needed off cycle) which encompasses cataloguing and understanding updates and changes, timeline coordination, carrier management and education for the client 

·        Submit work product for peer review without exception and provide accurate and thorough peer review services for team members upon request. 

·        Communicate thoroughly and expeditiously with the team members regarding client activities, initiatives, and any other pertinent matters

·        Seek out and participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.

  • Fully insured, alternate funded and self-insured clients
  • Multi-state
  • Typical size: 100 to 5,000 employees

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of experience dealing with the financials of health and welfare plans, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting or actuarial function (pricing/valuation) of an insurance company
  • Life & Accident License
  • Bachelor’s Degree – preferred
  • Advanced (Excellent) Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape
  • Strong analytical and integrative skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
  • Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate
  • Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues, strong client service orientation
  • Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
