SVP of Strategic Partners, Salt Lake and/or Utah County

The Director of Strategic Partners is responsible for all aspects of the daily legal and management oversight for the bank’s strategic partner programs. Core responsibilities include management oversight and legal support, along with the ongoing legal reviews of contracts, marketing product offerings, credit, operations, compliance, and other various items in coordination with external counsel. The Director of Strategic Partners oversees the strategic partner program at the bank and is supported by various program managers and senior program managers, various departments within the bank, and third-party resources for the strategic partner programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Primary point of contact and liaison with external counsel.
  • Manage a team of program managers and senior program managers.
  • Attend strategic partner meetings to discuss bank opportunities, identify client needs, and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate legal reviews and provide recommendations to executive management.
  • Work closely with each respective department that is required (or third-party) for ongoing oversight, review, and monitoring of strategic partners.
  • Support the bank during regulatory exams or internal audits.
  • Support business development with onboarding new strategic partners via contract negotiation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively.
  • Provide professional guidance to assist co-workers in career and leadership development; inspire co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities including in-house and external trainings.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Legal experience in a related field (business, banking, FinTech, etc.).
  • Management experience leading a team with a successful track record.
  • Pleasant and confident demeanor when interacting with colleagues and clients.
  • Assertive self-starter with exceptional professional verbal/written skills who is highly organized and able to work independently.
  • Fluent in English (reading/writing/speaking).
  • Proactive mindset in developing client and the strategic partner department.
  • Efficient and well-organized.
  • Exhibit effective people-management ad interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well  a team or individually.
  • Law degree or master’s degree is preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree in a business- related field OR equivalent work experience is required.
