Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- 2+ Years programming tool paths using CAD/CAM software.
- Advanced proficiency in G and M code required.
- 3+ Years’ experience working in a machine shop.
- Previous experience working with large Okuma and Megabore machines.
- Advanced proficiency with inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometer.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and disciplined.
- Highly organized.
- Very detail oriented.
- Ability to work in Vernal, UT on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency with OKUMA MU500 Mill.
- Advanced proficiency with OKUMA MULTUS B400 Lathe and OKUMA MULTUS 750 Lathe.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- Welding experience.
- Previous experience in the oil and gas drilling industry.
- Knowledge of client Drilling’s Products.
Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Inspect, measure, and gauge completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guide for subsequent machining.
- Debur and clean finished product/tools.
- Program tool paths using CAD/CAM software.
- Assist other CNC Machinist/Programmers with setup and operation of other CNC Machines.
- Maintain CNC machines by checking filters, coolant, and oil levels and filling or replacing, as needed. As well as cleaning CNC machines, as needed.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and shapers.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required.
- Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Check and edit programs for accuracy and prove out code to ensure proper operation/programming.
- Perform other duties of a similar or related level and assist with special projects as necessary or assigned.
