Japan Country Manager - Tokyo (meguro station area- Arco tower) will need to work in office a couple of days a week.

 

Position Summary

Performs a variety of professional, and managerial duties related to planning, organizing and directing the development and maintenance of the Japanese market with a strong emphasis on revenue.  Provides leadership to both distributor base and staff.

 

Works under the broad policy guidance and direction of the Chief Sales Officer and provides high level supervision to local staff in Japan.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Develop and promote positive relationships with distributors to ensure their success; conducts distributor training meetings, promotes and participates in conference calls, motivational events, workshops, seminars and conferences
  • Works in collaboration with Corporate Sales team to develop and drive strategies for market
  • Assist Corporate Management team in the strategy for new/existing product positioning, pricing and forecasting
  • Grow sales and distributor base in Japan
  • Initiate action needed to expedite the achievement of distributor operational goals and objectives
  • Assure timely delivery of services related to distributor relations, product distribution, company information, product registration, compensation processing, etc. in Japan
  • Assist in the coordination of product registration and assist in the development of strategies needed to effectively secure the admittance of products into Japan
  • Monitors, reviews and analyzes personal care and nutritional supplement industries to maintain awareness of current trends, consumer interest and product preferences based upon cultural differences
  • Provides information and support for product forecasting, warehousing and distribution
  • Provides information and support for resolution of supply chain issues
  • Makes recommendations affecting employee status in the local office (i.e., recruitment, retention, promotion, discipline and termination)
  • Oversee Japan sales budget
  • Monitor expenditures
  • Assure compliance with established fiscal guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and/or Experience                  

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management, marketing or related field plus 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience related to managing and operating domestic and international businesses.  Network marketing experience required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in both Japanese and English language required

·      Presentation/speaking skills

·      Knowledge of network marketing

·      Knowledge of budget development and fiscal accounting principles

·      Knowledge of supply chain, inventory and distribution systems

·      Knowledge of negotiation techniques

·      Computer literate

·      Ability to draft reports, documents and agreements

·      Ability to analyze a variety of marketing issues and problems and make recommendations

·      Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with distributors, executives, managers and subordinates

·      Ability to work independently

·      Ability to deal effectively with stress caused by work load and deadlines

·      Ability to travel required
