Business Development Director, Salt Lake and/or Utah County  

The Business Development Director is responsible for all aspects of the daily oversight, supervision, and management of business development initiatives at client Core responsibilities include sourcing new potential strategic partners, risk management and relationship support, and ongoing reviews of internal processes to enhance and develop the bank. The Business Development Director interacts with and is supported by each respective department within the bank and third-party resources (i.e., outside counsel). This position reports directly to the Chief Business Development Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Primary point of contact for potential strategic partners.
  • Attend introductory meetings and discuss bank opportunities, identify client needs, and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Work with potential strategic partners to define solutions to problems and develop new revenue streams for the bank.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting metrics to attain internal bank goals.
  • Work closely with each respective department that is required (or third-party) for due diligence, program structure, contract negotiation, and implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively.
  • Effective project management that includes applying bank methodology, enforcing standards and bank policies, minimizing exposure to risk, and ensuring the completion and accurate storage of finished projects. Provide professional guidance to assist co-workers in career and leadership development; inspire co-workers to attain goals and pursue excellence.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities including ongoing training.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and attitude; creative in forming and implementing data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to present to key stakeholders in a confident and concise manner.
  • Assertive self-starter with exceptional professional verbal/written skills, highly organized, and able to work independently to finish assigned projects.
  • Pleasant and confident demeanor when interacting with colleagues and clients.
  • Fluent in English (reading/writing/speaking).
  • Proactive mindset in developing client and the business development team. Efficient and well-organized.
  • Exhibit effective people-management and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team or individually.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • Work experience in business development, sales, finance, or banking is a plus.
