This role will be essential to the future of the accounting department and may serve as a springboard for future growth within the company. 

 

Client is located in the middle of the beautiful, Uintah Basin.  Nature and outdoor activities are a way of life in “The Basin.”  Vernal is big enough to support a vibrant economy with all the amenities and is still small enough to let you “get away from the city.” 

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years accounting Experience.
  • A working understanding of GAP accounting.
  • At least 2 years’ experience making journal entries, reconciling accounts, and performing other standard accounting functions. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 
  • 1+ year’s experience performing financial analysis .
  • Previous experience with variance and other forms of analysis.
  • Proven experience analyzing payroll records.   
  •  Must be operationally minded. 
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and disciplined. 
  • A detail oriented personality with the ability to see the big picture.
  • A high emotional IQ and willingness to be a team player. 
  • Previous experience managing projects.
  • Ability to read/understand a chart of accounts.
  • Ability to understand a PnL and know how to create it.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Masters of Business Administration or CPA
  • 6+ years of proven experience in a similar role. 
  • Previous experience with international billing.
  • Previous experience working with companies in the Middle East. 
  • Ability to design, create, implement, and maintain Access databases. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Account for the finances of the company. 
  • Under the direction of the Corporate Controller, develop and implement accounting processes and procedures that accurately capture needed data and information.
