Positrol Workholding, a workholding equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team.

We design and build custom workholding for round parts or parts machined in rotating machine tools (lathes, gear cutting machines, OD, ID grinders, etc.). This is a high-mix, low-volume shop.

The Sales Engineer position requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Travel through the Midwest approximately 10% of the time (mostly all-day travel). Must have good problem-solving skills and be comfortable meeting new people and discussing new ideas. The ideal candidate needs to be able to self-motivate and remain organized.

This is more of a “farming” sales role vs. a “hunting” role. This role will be mostly nurturing current customer relationships and following up on inbound prospects and leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers

• Gather information required to quote projects
• Design and propose concepts
• Summarize recommendations and present them back to the customer
• Update and maintain opportunities inside of CRM
• Generate ballpark quotes
• Work as the go between Applications, Engineering, and the customer
• Attend trade shows
• Technical service calls to customers

Candidate Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required
• Previous Sales or Customer Service Experience preferred
• Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Job Shop Experience preferred
• 3D design experience preferred (Inventor experience a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office required
• A valid driver’s license
