Vice President, DevOps

As the Vice President of DevOps, you'll be at the helm of our client's cloud-based applications and infrastructure strategy, architecture, and execution. This high-level role requires orchestrating the integration of software development, quality engineering, and operations teams to maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines, micro deployments, and consistent software releases. You'll lead platform engineering efforts to bolster scalability, reliability, and performance within our technology stack, empowering teams to automate environments and deployments, ensuring stability and minimizing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

- Strategic Vision: Shape and drive the strategy for Platform Engineering and DevOps, aligning with company goals and fostering innovation and operational excellence.

- Leadership & Mentoring: Guide senior leaders and their teams in Platform Engineering and DevOps, offering strategic direction and support for their professional growth.

- Best Practices: Implement and uphold best practices in infrastructure management, CI/CD, platform engineering, monitoring, and incident response.

- Automation Initiatives: Lead automation projects to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes, boosting operational efficiency.

- Performance Oversight: Monitor system performance and reliability, addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime and enhance scalability.

- Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in Platform Engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation, proposing and executing innovative solutions for software delivery optimization.

Requirements

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Experience: Over ten years of experience in DevOps and/or Platform Engineering, with at least five years in a senior leadership role managing cross-functional teams.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in development release tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git, and Azure DevOps, with strong scripting and source control skills.

- CI/CD Expertise: Extensive experience in designing, enhancing, and maintaining CI/CD processes and tools within Azure Pipelines.

- Change Management: Demonstrated success in driving cultural and organizational change in DevOps and Platform Engineering.

- Monitoring Skills: In-depth knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as App Insights and Log Analytics.

- Methodologies: Solid foundation in software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
