KēSTA I.T is actively seeking a GIS Data Architect for an immediate contract engagement with our government client.

 

Work Location: This position is hybrid.

 

Job Description:

This role involves collaboration with the Enterprise Application Architect, Enterprise Data Architect, our client’s GIS Team, application business leads, and Information Stewards. The architect will work closely with GIS data authors and consumers, Center for Shared Solutions (CSS) GIS Administrators, Roads & Highways specialists, SDE (Spatial Data Engine) Geodatabase Administrators, information management staff, solution developers, and business domain stakeholders including information managers, data stewards, and business analysts.

 

Responsibilities:

The GIS Architect will play a pivotal role in integrating applications with the ESRI Roads and Highways system for GIS data. Key responsibilities include understanding the data collected in the Roads & Highways Database, SDE environment, and the data needs of applications. The architect will identify discrepancies and drive efforts towards data accuracy, standardization, and synchronization. This role will support the annual migration of MDOT applications and work towards improving the migration process. The position also involves representing Agency Services in key meetings related to GIS data and addressing the GIS needs of consumer applications. Additionally, the role includes managing the ArcGIS License Manager, which involves setting up, updating ESRI License Manager, and periodically adding licenses.

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Expert proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS products such as ArcCatalog, ArcMap, or ArcPro.
  • Proven experience in building model data workflows to extract, transform, and load GIS data using ArcGIS Model Builder. Experience with Spatial ETL tools such as Safe FME is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the ESRI Roads and Highways Database and ESRI Versioned/non-Versioned Datasets.
  • Knowledge of Python programming using ArcPy and the ArcGIS Python API.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing GIS integration capabilities (feature or web service-based) with applications.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server Spatial and Oracle Spatial.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across all organizational levels.
