Our client, a leading insurance provider, is seeking a seasoned Director of Actuarial Services to lead their actuarial team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing pricing, reserving, and compliance functions, including signing off on regulatory filings, annual statements, and reserve analyses. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in homeowners insurance, strong technical and analytical skills, and the ability to manage and mentor a team. This role offers a unique opportunity to scale and refine actuarial pricing and product analytics functions while supporting the company's expansion into multiple states.
Responsibilities
- Leadership in Actuarial Services: Lead the actuarial team with responsibilities across pricing, reserving, and compliance, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Sign off on regulatory filings, annual statements, and reserve analyses, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements across multiple states.
- Pricing and Product Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies in collaboration with product implementation and finance teams. Oversee the actuarial pricing function, managing the strategy, analysis, and execution of pricing models, particularly in the context of multi-state expansion.
Qualifications
- Credentials: ACAS or FCAS designation required; early FCAS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in actuarial roles, with a strong focus on homeowners insurance. Proven experience with both reserving and pricing is essential.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to mentor and develop actuarial professionals.
