Position: Cloud Automation Lead

Status: Contract to Hire

Location: Remote in Eastern Time Zone USA

Salary: $100K to $115K + 10-15% Bonus

Our client is seeking a Cloud Automation Lead who will work remotely on Eastern Time (EST) and must currently live in the US. The position is for contract-to-hire and will provide operational support to the Cloud Automation team.

Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned technology projects focusing on AWS, Azure, and IaC implementations
• Improve efficiency and productivity while reducing toil
• Manage relationships with global sourcing provider tower leads for expertise in AWS, Azure, and IaC practices
• Prioritize and set goals for global sourcing provider for cloud operations and IaC adoption
• Provide constructive feedback on cloud operations and IaC best practices
• Create best practices for infrastructure technologies in AWS and Azure environments
• Participate in regular on-call rotation for 24/7 support for AWS, Azure, and IaC-related issues
• Troubleshoot and provide root-cause analysis for issues related to AWS, Azure, and IaC implementations
• Develop solutions and provide technical domain expertise in AWS, Azure, and IaC methodologies with all IT teams
• Design and administer security practices in AWS and Azure for compliance requirements
• Resolve cloud-specific customer incidents and problems rapidly
• Coordinate and participate in service and support needs for vendors, technical support, application support, and infrastructure support for AWS, Azure, and Automation
• Follow best practices for supported technology in AWS, Azure, and IaC implementations
• Test and deploy security patches to identify systems in AWS and Azure environments for regulatory compliance requirements
• Develop documentation and train technicians on AWS, Azure, and IaC best practices
• Review ticket and queue performance with the MSP provider and management
• Understand cost-optimization and efficiency for cost-savings exercises.

Qualifications:

• Over 7 years of experience working in operational roles with a focus on engineering tasks
• Possess more than 7 years of experience in technical troubleshooting
• Proficient in managing day-to-day operations in AWS and Azure environments with over 3 years of experience
• Skilled in working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible with over 2 years of experience
• Adept at addressing cloud-specific issues and resolving customer incidents promptly
• Well-versed in Tagging within AWS and Azure to ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security, and policy requirements
• AWS, Azure, Terraform, and/or Ansible certifications are preferred.
