Position: Plant Manager - Mining

Status: Permanent, Full Time

Location: On Site, Confidential location on Eastern Half of USA

Relocation Package: Available for Candidates Nation-Wide

Salary Range: 140-170K with a Generous Bonus Structure, Depending on Experience

Description:


The Plant Manager will work both in-plant as well as in-office with occasional travel between other plant sites, customer sites, supplier sites and other sites as required. They will be on-call for escalations and will take ownership to resolve problems.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Supervise Department Managers
  • Take ownership of production safety, quality and ensuring operation runs in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure operation is in compliance with operating and capital budgets
  • Manage the completion of the majority of capital improvement projects
  • Participate in in developing short- and long-range goals and objectives for the operation
  • Drive the implementation of operational excellence initiatives that will lead to world-class results


Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent in practical experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Knowledge of industrial management, mining, or processing methods and procedures
  • Experience with Staff management, identifying training needs and dealing with Human Resources
  • Experience managing in a Unionized environment
  • Excellent problem solving skills for industrial and organizational problems
  • Extensive knowledge in mining and mineral processing, including grinding and packaging
  • Skilled in advanced (Lean) manufacturing techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and financial management analysis


Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Master’s Degree (in Business, Business Administration, or related field) 
  • Knowledge of mining and processing of industrial minerals preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the function of mineral processing equipment
  • Lean and Maintenance Excellence experience
