Position: Software Technical Support Engineer

Location: Holmdel, NJ

Status: Permanent, Full Time

Compensation: $90,000 to $115,000 depending on skills and experience

Our client is an exciting software company that is growing quickly and hiring lots! We're searching for dedicated Software Support Engineers with a knack for solving software related issues by taking deep dives into file logs and who have knowledge of Linux OS and Linux commands.


  • Provide post-sale technical support
  • Solving complex software issues by using logs and diagnostic reports
  • Troubleshoot functional and performance issues
  • Communicating findings and case status internally to engineering and externally to partners
  • Performing deep dives into log files and reports from partners and provide solutions
  • Working with QA and development resources to prioritize, debug and deliver fixes to partners and occasionally to end customers
  • Providing partner and customer feedback to product teams
  • Collaborating with in-house engineers and world-renowned technical partners
  • Participating in product installation, deployment and implementation support and hardware
  • Some nights or time on weekends will be needed as per customer demand


  • AS/BS degree in Computer Science or related field and several years of related experience
  • Experience providing software problem solving and support
  • Prefer experience with complex, high-performance multi-threaded applications (these are mainly written in C language, some Python).
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and Linux commands
  • Experience digging into log files and reports to come up with solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team learning and growing together.
  • The ability and desire to learn the software and become expert.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and be part of a team

Bonus/Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with backup software/technology or security
  • Familiarity with server hardware and networking
  • Previous experience working for a company that develops and sells software
  • Experience with Cyber Security/Recovery and/or data backup is a big plus.
