Controller - Immediate Fulltime Role in Irving, Texas

The Hire Solution has partnered with a national food service client for the position of Controller. The Controller is a key position within the accounting team, reporting directly to ownership. In this role, the ideal candidate can expect to:


·      Prepare monthly financial statements and the monthly internal financial packages using

Sage Intacct ERP system

·      Implement and maintain accounting practices to ensure compliance with GAAP principles

·      Ensure timely reconciliation and review of all the balance sheet accounts each month

·      Manage the accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions, including

accounts payable, PO's, petty cash, employee expense reports and cash control

·      Oversee corporate tax compliance for all incomes taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, use

taxes to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate tax returns, taking full

advantage of all favorable tax codes

·      Coordinate the annual financial audit with external auditors including preparation of

needed “prepared by client” (PBC) schedules, financial statements and accompanying notes

·      Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all

financial systems, processes and data, to enhance the company's value

·      Create checks and balances for all financial data to ensure sound management of company

assets

·      Manage the accurate and timely calculation of all incentive plans

·      Participate in a wide variety of special projects as needed including M&A activity and new

location expansions.

·      Manage and builds vendor relationships, including banks and outside professional legal

and accounting advisors

·      Manage all bookkeeping tasks to accurately reflect the company’s financial position

·      Supervise, and evaluate department staff, including Payroll


Requirements:

·      10+ years of direct accounting experience

·      4+ years of management experience

·      Experience in a competitive and growth-oriented business environment within a $50 million

plus organization

·      Multi-site experience within the restaurant, retail or hospitality industry preferred

·      M&A experience preferred

·      Cash management or treasury experience a plus

·      Ability to work at both the strategic and tactical levels

·      Collaborative and a team player

·      Focused on supporting field operations with an internal customer service mindset

·      Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access

·      Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
