The Hire Solution has partnered with a prominent Dallas nonprofit agency located in Dallas (zip 75201) for the immediate direct hire position of Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and CFO, and will have the ability to work both from the office and from home. The ideal candidate is a degreed accountant with experience in a nonprofit agency in an accounting capacity. Duties include:

Essential Functions:

· Maintain endowment fund accounting records and generate annual endowment reports for donors.

· Record investment portfolio activity including allocations to endowments for all donors

· Review and prepare financial statements and management reports using Sage Abila ERP

· Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with appropriate accounting methods.

· Serve as the administrator for the Sage Abila ERP system as well as budgeting software tool.

· Prepare the annual audit schedules for the external auditors.

· Prepare schedules provided to the tax accountants for Form 990s.

· Prepare financial reports for grant funding.

· Assist departments with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes as well as training new budget managers.

· Perform variance analysis in accounts and interpret / report on results.

· Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts to the general ledger monthly.

· Prepare functional expense allocations for year-end reporting.

· Perform key back-up activities for Controller as needed.

· Maintain books and records for related organizations.

· Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

· Legally eligible to work the U.S. without sponsorship

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

· 5+ years accounting/finance experience, CPA preferred

· Experience with ERP system such as Sage Intacct, Blackbaud, Sage Abila or other nonprofit accounting system.

· Not for Profit accounting experience preferred

· Advanced level MS Excel and financial reporting skills

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Effective oral and written communication skills.
