Accounting Manager

The Hire Solution has immediate and on-going opportunities for Accounting Manager in the Dallas, Irving and surrounding areas. The Accounting Manager will supervise and direct the financial operations various small to midsize companies in accordance with internal policies and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to, accounting, accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting, payroll, and account reconciliations. This role reports directly to the CFO or company owner and oversees all work produced by the accounting team, which varies in size from 2-5 employees generally.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets for the key leadership team.
  • Responsible for timely completion of the month-end close process using accounting systems such as QuickBooks, MS Great Plains, Sage 100 and other proprietary systems.
  • Review monthly and annual journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile cash accounts monthly; investigating unusual or unexpected transactions.
  • Oversee payroll operations, including review of timesheets, withholdings and benefits, ensuring adherence to museum policies.
  • Communicate with the third-party payroll processor.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes including review of aged payables and weekly check run to ensure maintenance of a strong control environment.
  • Oversee accounts receivable process including all museum related invoicing.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts recorded to the ledger monthly, investigating any aging or unusual items.
  • Manage the accounting, tracking and reporting of fixed assets. Record and account for asset dispositions.
  • Create and provide monthly budget-to-actual reports to departmental managers.
  • Manage sales tax reporting, ensuring that tax payments are tracked and accounted for correctly and are made as required on a timely basis.
  • Participate in preparation of budget and financial forecasts, analyze and report variances.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. CPA preferred; but not required.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience, especially in small to midsize companies.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including accounting, budgeting and internal control principles.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Proficiency with such software as QuickBooks, MS Great Plains, Sage 100.
  • Possess high level of attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines
  • Maintain highest standards of integrity, including confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
