Staff Accountant

The Hire Solution has partnered with a nonprofit entity in the Lancaster / Desoto area for the immediate 3 to 6 month temporary need for an experienced Staff Accountant. The desired start date is within the next 1 week, so please apply right away. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to:


  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile 20+ bank accounts for both operations and investment
  • Conduct GL to Bank Statement reconciliation
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Add newly purchased fixed assets into the ERP system, and set up corresponding depreciation schedule for each
  • Post cash receipts to the ERP system and make sure they appear
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Journalize accounting transactions throughout the month
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Help the accounting assistants when needed
  • Coordinate the budget process by developing documents and work papers; coordinating efforts with departments; managing deadlines; entering and reviewing data; and ensuring compliance.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship
  • Five years of experience as a staff or senior accountant
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of budgeting practices and principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected and appointed officials
  • Skill in the operation and use of standard office software which includes databases and presentation programs, along with standard Microsoft products
