The Hire Solution has partnered with a prominent central Dallas based nonprofit agency for an Interim Controller. The Interim Controller is a visible and hands on role, reporting to the CFO, where duties will include a variety of accounting activities related to month-end close, general ledger, account reconciliations, and internal and external audits.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
Reconcile and manager endowment relationships and accounting
Reconcile bank account balances and bank statements including some investment portfolio accounts
Prepare and produce journal entries using internal ERP system
Reconcile account receivables, grants receivables, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities
Accurately report financials through timely, well-documented account reconciliations.
Fixed Asset activities such as recording, maintaining, and reconciling the organizations' fixed assets
Maintain records in the timekeeping system
Coordinate completion of audit schedules
Support year-end audit
Back up for accounts payable when needed
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, with a minimum of 12 hours in accounting
3+ years' experience as an accountant with a minimum budget of $5MM or more
CPA and non-profit experience preferred, but not required.
ERP experience such as Black Baud, Sage Abila, Oracle, Lawson, NetSuite or similar
