Solder Technician


The Solder Technician is responsible for assembling, soldering, and repairing electronic components and circuit boards. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to industry standards to ensure high-quality products. The Solder Technician will work closely with the engineering and quality control teams to maintain production efficiency and product integrity.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform high-quality soldering on electronic components, PCBs (printed circuit boards), and wire assemblies using various soldering techniques (e.g., through-hole, surface mount).
  • Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies according to technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies for defects, perform routine testing, and ensure compliance with IPC standards.
  • Identify and repair defective components and connections, perform troubleshooting and rework on assemblies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of production processes, including soldering and assembly work, inspection results, and rework activities.
  • Clean and maintain soldering equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Work closely with engineers, quality control personnel, and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions and IPC standards.


Qualifications:


  • Associates of Applied Science in Electronics or 2-3 years of technical work experience or equivalent military training or currently pursuing degree.
  • Excellent mechanical ability is essential regarding understanding of mechanics and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable with using a computer program to control an electronic or electro-mechanical device.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints & electrical schematics in equipment manuals.
  • 3+ years manufacturing, repair or maintenance experience
