Who Our Client Is


In the past five years, our client has grown into one of the largest networks of homebuilding companies in the US, and they are poised for significant growth. The company is building a compelling reputation in their industry, has expanded into 12 states, and is aggressively moving into new markets. 

 



What They Need


The VP of Accounting will work with a network of owner-operated building companies across more than 12 states, while also coordinating closely with the parent company and divisions/verticals in the organization. This position reports directly to the president of the operating division, while also working closely with the CFO of the parent company.




What You’ll Do


  • Provide both strategic and tactical daily leadership to our Partners and network of operating companies in alignment with our Mission and Vision. 
  • Manage and develop company support team and ensure they provide exceptional services while managing the accounting needs for all operating companies.
  • Prepare and maintain the annual budget for the company, including reforecasts quarterly or as needed.
  • Prepare budget templates and work with Operating Companies to produce their annual budgets.
  • Manage the Capital needs of the organization and individual Operating Companies. 
  • Work with Risk Manager to review and bind insurance policies. 
  • Manage the review and closing process for all lot acquisitions.
  • Produce and review financial statements for all companies before distribution to management on the 5th day of each month.
  • Identify & report other important financial metrics including scorecards.
  • Manage Sage Intact and Builder Trend relationships and implementation.
  • Manage onboarding process for new owner operators along with the VP of Field Operations.
  • Establish adequate internal controls to safeguard company resources.
  • Provide company Support Group financial information to produce consolidated financial statements.
  • Develop annual department financial plan as well as quarterly re-forecasts for expenses and revenue.
  • Develop and manage a high-performance team. 
  • Provide administrative support to the organization President.
  • Establish and document all associated procedures to improve adoption. 
  • Coordinate local and regional group training programs as needed for relevant topics including system usage, job budgeting, etc. 
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
  • Build strategic relationships and a network of business contacts.

 



What You’ll Need


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing an accounting team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
  • CPA preferred.
  • Homebuilding and/or Real Estate experience preferred.
  • Team player who is highly motivated to learn, grow and succeed.
  • Embraces and embodies the company’s mission, vision, culture, and values.
  • Communicates in a candid, but professional manner. 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
