Our client is seeking a dedicated and positive individual to fill the role of Transformer Specialist in Houston, North Texas, East Texas, and Louisiana. If you have a passion for electrical systems and a desire to contribute to impactful projects, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for!

Your Illuminating Responsibilities:

  1. Guiding Transformer Initiatives: Take a lead role in transformer field service projects, guiding them with your expertise.
  2. Hands-On Support: Contribute hands-on expertise to transformer assembly, repair, and insulating oil-processing projects. Share your knowledge through on-the-job training for peers.
  3. Electrical Evaluation: Perform and evaluate various electrical tests on transformers, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  4. Auxiliary Assistance: Test auxiliary devices, including Tap changers, pressure devices, and gauges.
  5. Troubleshooting Expertise: Tackle transformer, load tap changers, and auxiliary device issues. Analyze laboratory oil test results with a keen eye.
  6. Versatility in Voltage: Embrace the challenge of different electrical testing and lend a hand to various projects.
  7. Client Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships. Collaborate with inside sales for project estimates, project walks, and expanding project scopes.
  8. Presenting Technical Prowess: Showcase your technical abilities with client presentations when the need arises.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Graduate of Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent with at least eight years of relevant work experience.
  • High school education or equivalent, complemented by a solid 12 years of similar work experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable Navigator: Familiarity with industry standards like NETA, OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA.
  • Transformer Understanding: Comfortable with switchgear testing up to 230 kV class and power transformers up to 750 KV class.
  • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Demonstrate a theoretical understanding of electrical power systems with a knack for problem evaluation.
  • Project Efficiency: Consistently complete projects on time, under budget, and with an eye for profitability.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively convey your thoughts in both written and verbal communication with clients and peers.
  • Training Initiative: Share your expertise by training other transformer service personnel.
  • Sound Judgment: Exhibit good judgment and responsibility in managing large projects.
  • Tech Savvy: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power DB.
  • Software Adaptability: Comfortable using automated testing software like Doble DTAF, Vanguard, Omicron CT testing software, etc.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, night shifts, and engage in international travel if needed.
  • Physical Resilience: Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and lift 100-pound test sets. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
