Our client is seeking a sharp Director of Catering and Conference Services to support an esteemed independent property in College Park. Our client’s portfolio of hotels is luxury approaching luxury full service and the ideal candidate for this role is a strong leader who can collaborate closely with various departments, while ensuring catering and banquet strategies align with overall marketing and sales objectives.

Director of Catering and Conference Services Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Director or Associate Director of Catering in a comparable hotel environment
• Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing a team of 4 or more individuals
• Exceptional hands-on leadership skills, collaborating with and mentoring a talented team within a fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction
• Competency utilizing relevant software and systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and hospitality management platforms

Director of Catering and Conference Services Responsibilities- The duties for the role are as follows:

• Lead the catering and conference services team to establish a premier sales force within the DC Metro Market
• Cultivate a cohesive team environment through mature observation, hands-on teaching, and collaborating with internal departments to champion excellence in banquet/catering operations and, therefore client satisfaction
• Foster partnerships with the local community, VIPs and key university stakeholders to drive revenue and enhance the hotel's reputation through participation in industry events/networking functions, cultivating new business relationships and staying informed on industry trends
• Define and exemplify service and performance standards, ensuring exceptional delivery for all banquet and catering events
• Actively pursue and qualify new sales opportunities, negotiate terms within established guidelines, and generate comprehensive sales reports/forecasts, contributing to strategic planning efforts
