The Chief Rubber Process Engineer is a fantastic opportunity to lead efforts in driving innovation and efficiency in rubber processing operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring the enhancement of rubber compound formulations, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and optimizing processes for quality and efficiency. Your strategic planning, technical expertise, and leadership skills will be paramount in achieving organizational objectives.

Chief Rubber Process Engineer Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in rubber processing/manufacturing, with a strong expertise in rubber compounding, molding, curing, and finishing processes
  • Managerial experience a plus
  • A proven track record of exceptional communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a 2-person team effectively
  • Keen ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and effectively communicate information to stakeholders in layman’s terms
  • Proficiency in the following mathematical concepts: probability, statistical inference and geometry for data analysis/modeling
  • Command of simulation/modeling software, data analytics, statistical software and ERP systems (SAS or similar). Including utilizing these tools for process optimization, technology implementation and quality assurance
  • Deep understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control processes

Chief Rubber Process Engineer Responsibilities- The duties for the role are as follows:

  • Lead initiatives to improve rubber compound formulations, exploring new materials and additives, improving product and process performance utilizing cost-effective strategies
  • Investigate/resolve issues related to rubber compounds within manufacturing process, collaborating with team to implement effective solutions and prevent recurrence
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for rubber processing operations, outlining clear goals, timelines and resource requirements
  • Effectively delegate tasks among team members, ensuring alignment with individual strengths and project requirements while maintaining focus on overarching goals
  • Drive development/optimization of rubber manufacturing processes, including compounding, mixing, molding and finishing, ensuring adherence to quality standards and efficiency targets
  • Identify/implement cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches, enhancing rubber processing techniques, improving product quality, reducing costs and increasing production efficiency
  • Establish/maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide managerial leadership/guidance to team of 2 engineers, fostering culture of collaboration, continuous learning and professional development
  • Collaborate with R&D, production and quality control teams, driving product development, troubleshooting issues and optimizing processes
  • Actively manage budgets/resources, identifying cost-saving opportunities, optimizing resource allocation and achieving operational excellence
  • Limited International travel 1-2 times per year
