ISC’s team of Recruiters is partnering with a leading private equity and real estate investment firm, on a VP of Finance opportunity. The ideal candidate for this VP role is a sharp finance/accounting leader who can support financial analysis related to the real estate property portfolio, cash flow, and financings, and will collaborate closely with the asset management and accounting teams, reporting directly into the CFO.

In this VP OF finance role, you will manage the company’s cash and treasury functions, marketable securities investments, tax compliance, and human resource payroll and benefits administration. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance and accounting professional who is detail-oriented, independent, strategic, and demonstrates excellent communication skills. Our client is stable and growing, focused on long-term strategic partnerships and investments, holdings span 8 million square feet across 90 properties and the real estate ventures support the firm’s charitable initiatives.

 

VP of Finance Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • CPA, preferred
  • MBA, a plus

·        7+ years’ relevant financial leadership experience

·        Knowledge of commercial real estate

·        Extensive experience in cash forecasting, financial analysis/modeling, evaluating and reporting on stock/bond investments as well as potential future investment opportunities

·        Understanding of partnership taxation, capital markets and interest rate environments

·        Must have reported into C-Suite or Presidential level

·        Willingness to be in-office 4 days a week/WFH 1 day a week

  • Working knowledge of August (property-level admin software), a plus
  • Ability to work effectively (both autonomously and collaboratively) in a small office environment

VP of Finance Responsibilities- The duties for the role are as follows:

  • Prepare consolidated short-term and long-term cash forecasts for the business and related trusts across US and International operations
  • Coordinate wire transfers, line of credit draws, and fund movements between various bank/investment accounts
  • Aid in managing the Group’s investment portfolio, including evaluating and recommending adjustments to the investment strategy and asset allocations, tracking and reporting on portfolio, while collaborating with CFO/money managers in implementing investment strategies
  • Oversee third-party tax preparers/internal accounting staff, ensuring timely and accurate tax return preparation and filing, while monitoring changes in tax law/compliance
  • Provide guidance on structuring real estate transactions for tax efficiency, assist with long-term property-level cash forecasting, track property performance and conduct market research
  • Coordinate with third-party payroll and employee benefits administrators, track PTO and act as main contact for employee benefit administration
  • Manage the portfolio of non-real estate investments, track performance, and identify new investment opportunities/evaluating and recommending new options
  • Supervise accounting for single-family office holding company investments, seeking out best practices and overseeing continual improvement
