Electrical Assembler
JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general
nature of the job):
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
o Uses common electrical assembly tools and related functions in an efficient manner. This includes
but is not limited to: wire cutters, tube benders, conduit benders, etc.
o
Assembles and troubleshoots
knockout boxes, panels, wiring harnesses and wire terminations.
o
Employs proper electrical
safety techniques. (Mostly low voltage operations, but some high voltage)
o Applies wiring
methods and materials to form conduits.
o Sets
and tests electrical switches, valves, pressure limits and machine settings.
o May
build sub-assemblies that are incorporated into finished product.
o
Demonstrates ability
to read basic blueprints or schematics. Redlines
drawings to submit to engineering.
o Demonstrates
understanding of machine logics, motors and
drives.
o
Labels wiring to make trouble shooting
possible during assembly
and for the customer.
o
Uses and is able to properly
read measuring equipment
to verify part or assembly quality.
o May use assembly
electrical test equipment, including but not
limited to: voltmeters, mulitmeters, etc.
o May run air and lube
lines per specifications.
o
Performs shakedowns, teardowns
and punch list items for machines.
o
Demonstrates familiarity with IFS and shop order structure/build sequences.
o Signs off on
buy-off book documentation which he or she performed.
o
Checks and troubleshoots each
electrical set-up to prep machine for customer
buy-off.
o Always applies lock-out tag-out
procedures.·
o Other
duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
o
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
o Electrical
aptitude and experience. Some formal
training as an electrician is required. Attention to detail is necessary.
e Ability
to work in a team environment, which
includes communicating effectively with team members and support
staff, being self-motivated, accepting responsibility for one's own work, and
actively participating as a team member in a proactive manner.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING
CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties
and responsibilities in the following environment:
o Work schedule
generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include
on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
o
Physical demands vary.
o
50 lb. limit on lifting
without forklift or assistance.
o
Must wear a harness if climbing
>6' off shop floor.
o
Must operate in a safe, responsible manner, which respects the environment and the health of employees, customers, and the communities in which of operates. At no time should work be performed in a manner
which compromises environmental, health or safety
values.
