Location:           50/50 office and field

Base Salary:      $150K - $200K 

Location            Phoenix, AZ

Benefits:            50% of health benefits covered, PTO

Our client is a Phoenix-based metal fabrication company that has over 80 years of experience in the industry. Founded in 1937, Capitol Engineering got its start manufacturing custom metal parts for industrial cotton gins and has evolved to service customers across an array of industries. Capitol Engineering is a leading provider of custom metal fabrication solutions for clients in the mining industry. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and efficiency, we deliver tailored fabrication services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. In addition, our facility is over 90,000 SF on 4 acres and we can provide custom metal manufacturing to specifications.


Under new ownership, the Senior Project Manager will be part of the leadership team and may be offered equity down the line.

 

Position Overview:

·      We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager/VP with a background in custom metal fabrication, particularly within the mining sector.

·      Lead and oversee all aspects of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

·      Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure alignment with their expectations.

·      Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, and effectively communicate project progress to key stakeholders.

·      Coordinate and manage all project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency and performance.

·      Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive measures to mitigate project risks and ensure a safe working environment.

·      Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

·      Evaluate project performance against established metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Ideal background:

·      Experience working with a local General Contractor who has been in the field and is ready to leave the field role and come into the office more.

·      The ideal candidate will have extensive project management expertise, a thorough understanding of metal fabrication processes, and a proven track record of success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

·      Also open to seeing people who have spent time working for Industrial General Contractors in the field and are looking for a more 50/50 split in the office.

·       Ideal candidates would have experience in the industrial space as a whole.

 

 

Qualifications:

·      10+ years of industrial Project Management experience (experience as a PM working for local GCs with industrial background i.e steel, tanks, piping, custom steel fabricators, steel suppliers. etc. qualifies)

·      Proven experience working with an Industrial General Contractor (GC) for projects within the mining industry is highly desirable.

·      Demonstrated expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

·      Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

·      Field experience is a huge plus.

·      Experience managing and following up on RFIs, and coordinating the paperwork and inspections.
