Job Title: Superintendent (Heavy Civil)

Job Description:

Position Summary: The Superintendent will oversee the daily operations of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and within quality standards. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing heavy civil, utility, roadway, highway, and DOT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and implementation of heavy civil construction projects from start to finish.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are strictly adhered to, promoting a culture of safety on the job site.
  • Quality Control: Monitor work quality and compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and company management.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily construction activities, progress, and any changes to the project scope.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction, with a focus on utility, roadway, highway, and DOT projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
