Job                 Construction Engineer- Mostly in the field. Very little design if any, rfi’s submittals, materials ordering, reviewing specs and blueprints, etc.\

Full health benefits, including 401K with matching and profit sharing. Match dollar for dollar up to 3% and 0.50 cents on the dollar up to 5%. Matching starts right away when they open the account available in the first week of employment. However, the profit sharing takes a year of service time or 1,000 service hours to kick in.


Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Engineer with at least 1-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field operations and project management within the heavy civil construction industry. This role will involve managing various aspects of construction projects, including tracking daily productions, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with subcontractors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in heavy highway, roadway, bridge, or transportation projects 
  • Track daily production activities and maintain cost history for various divisions of work, such as excavation, blasting, drainage, erosion and sediment control, pavement base drain, stormwater detention basins, and stream relocations.
  • Preferred: Manage traffic control operations, including incident management, traffic impact studies, and videography of blast events.
  • Ensure compliance with Erosion and Sediment (E&S) control measures, manage stabilization subcontractors, and conduct monthly site inspections with local conservation districts.
  • Plan and supervise the installation of storm drainage systems, coordinating with multiple pipe crews.
  • Prepare material and shop drawing submittals and ensure all project documentation is up to date.
  • Supervise and inspect construction operations on roadway and bridge projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 1-5 years of experience in construction engineering or a similar role within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Preferred: Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
  • Strong understanding of construction inspection and project management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
