The Position:

The Director of Communications will create and guide a lasting communications program that will align the church community with our vision, mission, and engagement opportunities. In this role, you will craft and implement a unified brand aesthetic across all key points of congregants’ interactions. You’ll harness storytelling, engage the arts, and develop visual communication that inspires individuals and creatively expresses the church's mission. At the same time, you’ll provide clear, consistent corporate communication that boosts teamwork and efficiency among staff, church leaders, and volunteers.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for all church activities, that ensures the church community is well-informed and actively encouraged to participate
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the church's offerings in discipleship and evangelism
  • Set and uphold consistent brand standards for use in all church-related communication
  • Create an expectation for creative, well-conceived communication that furthers the church mission
  • Build and maintain a network of skilled designers, writers, and creative professionals
  • Amplify engagement through dynamic social media strategies and support ministries in their digital efforts
  • Assist staff and ministry teams in delivering clear and appealing messages
  • Employ marketing and advertising that helps the church reach the broader community
  • Lead and manage various video, print, and digital projects and church-wide campaigns
  • Serve as a positive contributor to staff culture and values 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or training in design/communication preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in church leadership or communications required
  • Must be comfortable with Core Beliefs without any conflict of conscience
  • Church membership and active engagement in church life required
  • Proven skill in branding and internal communications
  • Strong writing abilities
  • Adept at art direction across various media
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud and similar design tools
  • Proven implementation abilities
  • Able to meet time constraints and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated personal integrity, self-motivation, spiritual maturity, and wisdom
  • Proven leadership and management skills with staff, contractors, and volunteers
