Vice President of Operations 

Denver Area Single Family Office  


The Company:

The company is the single-family office to their client and provides traditional family office services including legal advice, tax preparation, trust and estate planning, wealth management, insurance and risk management, financial planning, philanthropic support, property management, investment management, and various administrative services. 

 



The Position:

The Vice President of Operations will be responsible and accountable for the overall management and leadership of the family office's operational and administrative activities and functions. He/she will also be responsible and accountable for the management, development, and supervision of the family office team. The Vice President of Operations will serve as a key partnership between the family enterprise, family members, and other constituencies to communicate relevant information. 



Responsibilities:

  • Operational and Administrative Management. Manage the family office team; create a high-performance, collaborative environment in which clearly articulated goals are met.
  • Financial Reporting, Accounting, and Tax Oversight. Work with accounting and tax advisors to implement a proper financial management strategy. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bill pay, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and controls.
  • Relationship Management. Oversee service delivery from third parties to family clients, advisors, and related contacts. 
  • Investment Oversight. Work collaboratively with family principals and external investment managers to oversee investments and portfolio management.
  • Property and Household Management Oversight: Work collaboratively with the Director of Household Services and Properties to ensure the effective, timely, and secure management of the family's real estate holdings and projects. 
  • Other. Support additional functions and services as required.




Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years of increasing relevant experience in operations, accounting, and finance, preferably in the family office/wealth management industry, working with high-net-worth families. Prior experience working with/advising family office clients or multigenerational families of significant wealth with complex structures and an understanding of and affinity for high-net-worth family clients and their needs and issues is a plus.  
  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred (i.e., MBA);
  • Certifications (i.e., CPA, CFP, CFA).
  • Strategic leadership, management, and mentoring skills; ability to develop, motivate and effectively lead a culture of quality and excellence; exceptional interpersonal skills. Approachable and able to build rapport with all family office staff; inclusive team player; collegial; accessible to all clients and staff.
  • Strong relationship management skills with a consultative approach and excellent listening skills; agility with differences in communication styles and preferences with the ability to adapt and communicate effectively with all; effective facilitator in all interactions with family clients, family office staff, enterprise leadership, and outside providers.
  • Proven track record of success in managing multiple projects, driving things forward, being a creative thinker and problem solver, serving a broad client base, demonstrating initiative; highly proactive approach; service heart; adaptable and responsive to all client needs.
  • Personality and style/nature that adds positively to the values of the family: grit, loyalty, adventure, integrity, and humility.
  • Possess a hands-on, "no job too big or too small" attitude.



Salary + Benefits:

  • $200-250k.
