The Position:

The Closing Advisor is the driving force behind marketing Merit Financial Advisors to other financial institutions.The Closing Advisor is the prospective client's first point of contact and will play a crucial role in establishing rapport with potential clients, and ultimately following up on leads to establish new business. The Closing Advisor will work closely with the Chief Growth Officer to build a referral pipeline, vet and qualify leads, and then handoff to the Due Diligence team to begin the internal discovery process.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with top-tier institutions and prospects through consultative, educational, and proactive conversations that deliver the Merit value proposition
  • Collaborate with CGO and growth team to design effective marketing and business development strategies that can help grow the referral pipeline
  • Schedule appointments, meet with new prospects, and follow up with prospects to develop and cultivate a referral base
  • Track results from prospective client meetings and keep the referral list updated with the prospect’s status
  • Perform initial qualification, vetting, and discovery of new clients, in order to ultimately hand off the client to the Merit advisor team. 
  • Travel within the sales territory for prospective client meetings


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in private wealth management within an RIA and/or BD environment
  • Demonstrated success in wholesale outbound sales and building a referral network within the financial services industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent CRM, time management, and project management skills
  • Must be able to travel around the regional area near the hub office (approximately 60% of scheduled work time)
  • Excellent computer and software skills including Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Communication
  • Series 66/65, required
  • CFA, CFP or CPA, preferred

  • $100,000-125,000k base salary + uncapped bonus potential
