JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Sales will be responsible for driving the strategy and sales development over North America. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strategic, customer-centric focus on seeking new Full Truckload, LTL, and Intermodal opportunities, while driving organic growth across our current customer portfolio. This role will be responsible for coaching and developing a motivated and competent sales staff including leaders and ensuring an effective process for performance management is in place. This candidate will support the sales strategy to maintain longterm customer relationships and to successfully execute plans to grow volume and sales revenues and to expand strategic customer relationships. Additionally, this candidate will focus on developing new profitable and sustainable client relationships while successfully maintaining exceptional customer experience. They will also be responsible for building out their sales team as well as helping to organize internal sales assets for maximum results.


This position reports to the CEO.


REQUIRED SKILLS


Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years in a senior sales role with a major 3PL organization

5 years of demonstrated experience leading teams in brokerage, 3PL or transportation related industry

Demonstrated track record selling transportation and supply chain services – proficiency in all domestic and US trucking modes

10 years of demonstrated relationship management experience

Proven track record in generating profitable revenue growth and retaining existing customers

Ability to lead strategy for RFQ’s, all modes including FTL, LTL and intermodal

Demonstrated record of establishing, recruiting, training and motivating successful Account Executives

Demonstrated experience in business planning and diligent at measuring and communicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks while always looking for solutions

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral as well as strong Microsoft Office skills

Demonstrated ability in the development and use of suitable sales forecasting and models

Ability to drive and own customer account growth by leveraging all company resources

Ability to develop and maintain a process that ensures a continuing source of leads and new target accounts

Demonstrated ability to work with Directors of Operations to meet gross revenue, net revenue, budgets and net income goals

Excellent leadership and team building skills, ability to build strong partnerships both internally and externally
