SUMMARY


The Director of Events is a sales position that serves as the primary relationship owner of the Cincinnati market segment with responsibility for acquisition, retention, and sales growth.  This role is a sales growth role and requires the identification, discovery, and closing of new business in the form of corporate events at both the Fowling Warehouse and Pickle Lodge event centers. The Director of Events works closely with clients to identify needs and consult on best practices for event solutions and setup.


Excellent proposal development, presentation, and negotiating skills are required and utilized for success in this role. A successful Director of Events has expertise in gaining access and selling to mid to senior-level decision-makers with their support staff to ensure a deep understanding of clients’ individual experiences to head off potential issues before they become problems.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage new and existing clients to provide value and insight into how clients and staff can be more successful with our current service delivery and customer engagement model.
  • Proactively and efficiently manage resources with internal and external dedicated teams, virtual teams, ad hoc teams, and executive staff around their events 
  • Align the overall corporate solutions to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and event requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing, and presenting.
  • Ability to diagnose and manage complex problems and solution sets.
  • Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline of future corporate events.
  • Identify new and emerging market segments.
  • Provide a consultative sales approach to clients
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and consensus-building skills and techniques are required
  • No overnight travel required


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


  • High School Diploma
  • Will have accomplished the following:
  • Experience independently closing B2B accounts 
  • Experience in solution and concept sales business models is preferred but not required, proficient in concepts around customer service, organizational skills, working with a CRM, and follow-up processes are important to the position. 
  • Ability and experience selling to Manager and Director levels within the organization. 
  • Experience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from beginning to close.
  • Candidate will be strategic in finding new business using technical knowledge and skillset.
  • Creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans.
  • Good management presence, communication skills, and credibility.
  • Ability to accurately forecast and other business reporting responsibilities.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.
