Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced controller to lead our high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have a background as an accountant in experiential retail, hospitality, and tourism, ideally in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will streamline our budgeting, expense, and financial reporting processes. Additionally, you will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to enhance our operational efficiency and support our growth. Mastery of the company’s financial management platform is a key requirement.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers through the evaluation, analysis, and reporting of relevant data points.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
  • Achieve budgeting goals through proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maximize expense efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Assist in developing and supporting short- and long-term operational strategies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a biweekly, monthly, and annual basis in coordination.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while staying informed of proposed legislation.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Provide dynamic leadership to oversee and support the accounting team, fostering an environment of trust and productivity.

Attributes and Requirements:

  • Hybrid work arrangement including Home Office, field, and remote work.

Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Experience in managing payroll, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
  • Exemplary history of financial project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant).
