  • Financial Management:  Oversee and manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, cash receipts, client funds, payroll processing (distributions), and general ledger activities.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management and partners.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Oversee the development of firm-wide budgets and forecast. Responsible for monitoring firm-wide budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, licensing, annual financial audits and employee benefit audits. Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Treasury: Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives. Build and maintain banking relationships, including daily bank administration. Lead the annual renewal process and oversee the quarterly compliance review.
  • Tax: Oversee the Partnership Accountant and tax process.
  • Financial Strategy: Collaborate with senior management and partners to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the firm's goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous growth and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • Proven experience (5 years +) as a Controller or in a similar financial management role, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Experience with Aderant, Chrome River, Iridium Business Intelligence tools is preferred not required. Advanced MS Excel systems is required.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and automating processes.
