We are hiring a 3D Technical Artist with experience in Hard Surface Modeling for our client near Albany, NY. Due to the nature of the work and location, candidates:

Must be a U.S. Citizen - Must have an active U.S. DOE L or U.S. DOD Secret level Security Clearance


Duties:

  • Support the development of 3D Virtual Trainer by working with others to generate digital graphics and animations.
  • Perform digital photography and editing, digital video filming, compression, prepare 3D models, 2D/3D graphics, and 2D/3D animations.
  • Assist with the 3D model reference data collection.
  • Provide recommendations on best practices and methods.
  • Assist with integrating 3D models and assets into the CryENGINE and Virtual Trainer system.
  • Ensure graphics utilized fully satisfy fidelity and requirements specified
  • Mentor government personnel and team members on 3D modeling best practices.
  • Support Quality Assurance during product testing.
  • Attend regular meetings with the development team and government personnel.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Autodesk 3dsmax
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere
  • Hard Surface Real-time Modeling, U.V. Unwrapping, Animation
  • Photorealistic Texturing, Real-time Material Texture Maps, Photo Manipulation
  • Digital photography and editing for capturing and manipulating reference data
  • Minimum Associates Degree in a related discipline


Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Pixologic ZBrush
  • Unity3D
  • Character Modeling, Character Skinning/Weighting, Multi-Sub Texturing, Specular/Normal Maps
  • Realistic Level Design, Real-time Lighting, Character Editing & Animation, Layer/File Structure, Procedural Textures/Materials, Shader Functionality
  • Processing and Manipulating reference data, including 3D Scan Data, Point Clouds, Photography, and Video
  • Adobe Flash/Animate
  • Scripting, Tool Development, Shader Development, and Procedural Materials
  • Personal, Professional, or Military Experience with Naval/Maritime environments
  • Strong portfolio showcasing best, recent, or most relevant work


Must be located in or be willing to relocate to Albany, immediately
