Director of Sourcing

SUMMARY:

The sourcing Director is responsible for driving all sourcing efforts and leading domestic teams to ensure products are matched with the best supplier partner. This role manages other sourcing and resourcing efforts and includes strategy to identify new suppliers, vet suppliers for capability, capacity, and credibility in the space. The role will support the interface, roles and responsibilities with external teams and determine the optimum solution to approach launching RFI and RFP’s, direct negotiation, disintermediation and integrate ‘should cost’ team efforts to ensure best first cost and quality is reached with each supplier partner. This highly visible role is expected to communicate at all levels, Executive to associate across the organization and will require excellent leadership, team, and associate development skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Establishes and fosters relationships with key business leaders and critical functions
  • Assist in the migration to a new ERP/MRP
  • Leads by example in aligning resources
  • Established Roles, responsibilities, and training materials for the sourcing team
  • Listens to the needs of key customers and leads relationships with major suppliers, sets expectations to the team in terms of gathering insight to better understand suppliers’ key differentiation and sets strategies to improve the overall quality and pricing of products and services
  • Lead sourcing events from planning through vendor engagement, evaluation, and selection
  • Works to establish commercial priorities based on key leader requirements
  • Accountable for delivery and meeting goals associated with value capture initiatives
  • Establishes aligned key metrics associated with assigned categories and holds team accountable to deliver on goals: cost savings and avoidance, quality, reliability and timely execution


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • 7+ years leading and developing high performing teams
  • BS Degree


PREFERRED:

  • Master’s Degree
  • ERP implementation experience


COMPENSATION:

  • Base Salary - $180 - $200k
  • Bonus Potential
