$90,000-$100,000 Base Salary Plus 10% Bonus

Senior Manager - Transportation

This position is responsible for the direct management and supervision of 60 drivers, management personnel, and support staff to include compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, employee performance and retention, and efficient and effective movement of our customer's freight. This position is on-site with the customer requiring daily interaction and relationship management with the key customer contacts.

Responsibilities

• Motivate, mentor, and lead a team of supervisors, managers, and drivers
• Ensure that safety is the number one priority in all aspects of the operation.
• Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communications, recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, appraising, and rewarding.
• Manage driver performance and activity to ensure a safe work environment and zero service failures.
• Manage work assignments and projects for the support staff that reports to this position.
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, and delivery locations.
• Ensure additional functions including payroll, billing, reporting, and driver counseling is done timely and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with D.O.T., OSHA, and all federal and state regulations, as well as company rules and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Transportation, Logistics, or equivalent work experience.
• 7 - 10 years of recent experience in transportation, supervising and leading a transportation team consisting of drivers, management, and office staff.
• Experience managing third-party relationships.
• Demonstrated experience leading, directing, communicating change, and developing a team.
• Candidates must possess a strong skill base using MS Office software, specifically Excel.
• Previous experience with P&L required.
